Justification, Sanctification and Glorification

Some time ago in our Sunday School Class we were studying the Apostle Paul's Letter to the Romans. During this I discovered something significant for me. There are three words which I have heard used many times, but I never looked in depth at their definitions. They are "Justification", "Sanctification", and Glorification". After reading many folks definitions I have made my personal definitions. They are:

  • Justification - That step in which I accept Jesus who is the Christ as my personal Savior. Through this I have a saving relationship with God. Because of this my personal sins of omission and commission, past, present and future are are all absolved.
  • Sanctification - That step which occurs after "Justification" in which the Holy Spirit helps me to become more like Jesus in all that I think and do. It is a process that will continue until I die.
  • Glorification - That step which occurs when I go to spend eternity with my Lord, Jesus who is the Christ. At that point, I truly become like him and am finally sin free. Wonderful!
